Dr. Tova Ovadia
Physical Therapist, DPT
As a practitioner, Dr. Tova Ovadia is known for her whole-patient approach to medicine, treatment, and patient care.
Dr. Ovadia graduated from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev – a world-renowned institution of research and higher education – in Beer Sheva, Israel, in 1990, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She was the first in her class to be offered a position at a large outpatient orthopedic clinic in Tel Aviv, where she began working prior to graduation. During her first 5 years of practice she also worked part-time in pediatrics, geriatrics, and subacute rehabilitation. Choosing Manual Therapy as a specialty, she pursued independent post-graduate training and certification in Maitland’s Joint Mobilizations Method, later to become The Maitland Concept of Manipulative Physiotherapy.
In 1995 Dr. Ovadia arrived in the United States to pursue advanced studies, during which she worked in a rehabilitation facility in Brick, New Jersey. After passing the Physical Therapy Board Exam, she relocated to New York City where she attended New York University to study towards an advanced master’s degree in Pathokinesiology.
During this time Dr. Ovadia partnered with Dr. Loren Fishman, building a large private practice of physicians and physical therapists, working conjointly, with the singular goal of healing people. During 14 years of collaborative work treating patients who suffer from chronic neck and back pain, piriformis syndrome, and other injuries and conditions, she developed a unique, holistic treatment approach by integrating manual therapy and biomechanics, that includes other parts of the whole, that were biomechanically involved on top of the site of injury.
At the same time, she continued to pursue additional knowledge in different manual therapy methodologies, including David Butler neuromobilization, Stanley Paris, and Brian Mulligan’s spine self-mobilization and exercises, as well as the application of Yoga and Pilates from the perspective of physical therapy and a more complete patient health result. Her personal and empathic approach to patients, as well as her convictions and tenacity is genuine and derives from her personal and professional experiences.
Dr. Ovadia has earned and established solid, long-term relationships with various physicians and healthcare practitioners, mastering the techniques of professional collaboration and partnership amongst different healthcare providers so often required to help a patient with a chronic condition. Along the way, some of these healthcare professionals as well as their family members have become her patients themselves. This unique corollary also includes multi-generational family members, which is something Dr. Ovadia is especially proud of.
Thirty years of accumulated knowledge, experience, and the desire to continue her professional development trajectory provided the impetus to establish her own private practice in 2009, free of the constraints of entrenched healthcare and health insurance industry standards of practice, establishing herself as an agile, responsive, and patient-centric provider of choice to people with musculoskeletal problems.
Dr. Ovadia continues to collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on patient care and professional standards and practices.

Emma G
Singer/Songwriter, Emma G Music Management
Saving the world one song at a time, Washington DC-based Emma G is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and the front person of a Goddess-rock trio reminiscent of a combination of Pink, Natalie Merchant, Amy Winehouse, and Alanis Morrissette with a sprinkling of Sia and Alice in Chains for good measure.
Emma G’s edgy tones and gutsy lyrics hammer home messages of love, vulnerability, empowerment and strength with a progressive/soul/pop-rock sound that is engaging, inspiring and appealing to a hugely diverse audience.
Unapologetically outspoken, flying her freak flag, and always smiling, Washingtonian Magazine dubbed Emma G as one of the “Best of DC”. One Love Massive describes her as “charismatic”, and ANR Factory describes her voice as “poignant and beautiful” with “astounding bravery to speak up” on issues that matter to her.
And where did this bravery come from? A long history of health issues, brain surgeries, battles with depression and suicide, drug addiction, and sexual assault, yet still finding the inner strength to come out the other side positively: singing her truth. “Things that happen to us don’t make us who we are, but we all need to overcome struggles. The trick is to overcome them together.” Says Emma G. “My hope is that my music will not only resonate with individual people, but also ignite those flames of love, resilience and community”.
Recent appearances have included the National Cherry Blossom Festival- and Independence Day Parades, Fox5 TV, PBS, and The Kennedy Center, Fox5 TV, PBS, CBC News, and The Daily Show, as well as LA’s The Mint, New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, Washington DC’s The Kennedy Center, and the documentary premiere of Academy-award nominated The Weight of Success. Now – fresh off a nationwide New Zealand tour, and a recent 22-date US tour spanning from Washington DC to New York, Burlington, Vermont to Palm Springs, California; and Asheville, North Carolina to Austin, Texas with her band of misfits Joey J Drums and DJ Reality Check, the trio are a force to be reckoned with.
With her career gaining momentum, and fame surely beckoning, who knows what is around the corner? “I like to push the glass ceiling, live outside my comfort zone, and (hopefully) inspire others to do the same,” Emma G says with a laugh. “I’ve always been the person who sees the beauty in being truly, authentically yourself and celebrating your weirdness.”

Learn how four beauty brands successfully navigated the challenges presented in the past six months, from messaging to distribution, and new product launchesBeatrice Dixon
Co-Founder & CEO, The Honey Pot Company
When she was younger, Beatrice Dixon suffered with bacterial vaginosis for eight months. One night, an ancestor gave her the ingredients to heal herself in a dream. From that insightful dream, she created the formula for a healthy, clean feminine wash. In 2014, Dixon launched The Honey Pot Company, a plant-based feminine hygiene line created with a goal to provide women with a healthy alternative to feminine care that is free of chemicals, parabens, carcinogens and sulfates. The rest is history.
With experience in pharmaceuticals, retail and natural foods, Dixon has the insight and expertise to bring the innovative concept of a plant-based feminine care system to the marketplace. Unlike mass market and conventional feminine care brands, consumers will be able to get all of their feminine care needs met under one brand as The Honey Pot Company currently offers feminine washes, wipes, tampons, pads, mommy-to-be products, and soon-to-be additional offerings in both the feminine hygiene and feminine care segments.
Today, The Honey Pot Company’s products can be found online and in stores nationwide at Target, Walmart, Urban Outfitters, Walgreens, Bed Bath and Beyond, Wegmans and Whole Foods, among other retailers.
An empowering African American female entrepreneur, Dixon has been a recipient of the Sundial and Unilever’s multimillion-dollar New Voices fund; was 1 of the first 40 women of color to raise one million in venture capital; and has been featured in T-Pain’s School of Business, BuzzFeed’s Ladylike series, Today Show, The New York Times, Entrepreneur, ELLE, ESSENCE and Forbes, to name a few.
Most recently, she was named one of Entrepreneur‘s top 100 groundbreaking women entrepreneurs of 2019; her company won a 2020 ESSENCE Best in Black Beauty Award; and she received a CEW Indie 65 Award in 2019, honoring beauty’s independent companies.
Through her diverse background and experience, Dixon continues to make a mark in the world of natural health and retail with a truly revolutionary approach to feminine health and sexual wellness.
